Fernando Alonso has become a phenomenon across the globe with his glorious comeback with Aston Martin this year! His performances have not only been the talk of the town in Formula 1, but also in other sports as his admirers and fans continue to hype the Spaniard up for his 33rd career win. Recently, the support came from tennis superstar and fellow Spaniard, Carlos Alcaraz, who ensured that the 41-year-old knows the role he has played in his career.

The 19-year-old number 1 ranked player first contributed to the “Como 33” trend himself during the Miami Open. Then Fernando Alonso, acknowledging the stature of Alcaraz, tweeted him back, which reportedly sent the latter into a frenzy! Plus, Alcaraz isn’t alone on this hype train. Max Verstappen too has been a backer of it and wants Alonso to stand on the highest podium. But it has been only Alcaraz who has fanboy’d his way onto Alonso’s Instagram and Twitter.

The frenzy that started with his signature camera message in Miami has now become known to the world. Why he did do so? Alcaraz explained, as quoted by Auto Bild from Movistar Plus, “He has made me a fan of Formula 1. He has made me watch the races and support him.”

“What better way to support Fernando than to wink on camera and wink in the coming days. The truth is that I encourage him to see if we get victory 33. For me what he is doing is crazy. Being at his age practically fighting for the title… It’s wonderful to have him there,” he added.

Fernando Alonso’s longevity and determination have found him admirers worldwide. That and many other factors are the reasons why he is regarded as one of the best, despite, as many would say, not having the best success numbers to back him.

One would think that after over 20 years after his debut, Fernando Alonso’s hype would settle down in Spain and elsewhere. Wrong! Those thinking so couldn’t be more wrong because it is just getting started. And Alonso himself, after all the support for his 33rd win, wants to go beyond that!

Speaking about the trend and support he is receiving from his country, he said, as quoted by Planet F1, “Yeah, I mean, it’s crazy to see how Spain is now so enthusiastic, again, for Formula 1 and for everything that is happening. So, you know, this is very, very nice to see.”

“So, there are a lot of 33s, and yeah, all the football clubs, or footballers, and now tennis, or whatever, and they are all doing something with 33. So, hopefully, we can reach that number in terms of wins, and then we go for 34!”
