Kimi Raikkonen has been quite famous for his crisp, and sometimes rude, responses during interviews or on team radio. On various occasions, people have criticized the 41-year-old for his devil-may-care attitude.

However, was Kimi really bothered by such comments? Well, apparently, the Finn never really cared about what others said or wrote about him.

Speaking to DailyMail, Kimi expressed his view on people writing stories that he doesn’t care about anything.

“I don’t really care what people write about me and this idea that I don’t care,” said Raikkonen. “I’m sure that the people I work with and have worked with, know what happens. So, I have zero interest in stories like this.”

Kimi is really neither funny by nature, nor does he try hard to be. However, his clueless expressions, his team radio messages, and responses during interviews draw him into the limelight.

Of course, there is no denying that Kimi can be rude at times, but that’s who he is. One must also consider the fact that Kimi gained massive fan-following with that attitude. Most of the Formula 1 fans love him. The primary reason being that he is entirely different from the others, which gives them a breath of fresh air.

The Alfa Romeo driver has never stayed overtime in the paddock and rather left for the hotel after his on-track job was done. However, people started assuming that Kimi was not motivated and began calling him arrogant.

During the interview, Kimi opened up about why he never preferred staying in the paddock longer than he usually does.

“If all the meetings and all the work are done, I see absolutely no reason to stay here,” Kimi said. “I have seen stories that I’m not motivated or that I’m arrogant. But if I didn’t have any interest in these things, I wouldn’t have signed my contracts.”

He also clarified that he had followed this “discipline” for years, as he felt it was pointless to stay around the paddock when there was no work left to do.

Overall, Kimi finally gave a fitting response to the criticisms he had faced through the 20-year journey in Formula 1. However, his focus will now be entirely on the upcoming race in Bahrain.
