It came as a shock of sorts when Ferrari decided to desist from continuing with Sebastian Vettel for 2021. There was a feeling that the German would no longer continue in the sport. And a sabbatical, or retirement altogether, were very genuine options.

But as the rumors mill churned, Vettel and Racing Point owner Lawrence Stroll continued with their reported negotiations. Ultimately, the development was revealed, and the 4-time World Champion was quite happy about it as well.

Fans of Vettel can now continue watching him in F1, for a few more years at least. And the current Ferrari driver has talked about Lawrence Stroll and how the negotiations went on with him behind the scenes.

Considering Lance Stroll was always a permanent face on the drivers’ lineup, it was Sergio Perez who has had to make way. But Vettel is looking forward to working with the young Canadian racer, who could benefit from the 33-year-old’s mentorship.
