However, Mick’s compatriot Sebastian Vettel clarified that Mick will create his own benchmark in the sport rather than ending up under Michael’s limelight.
Speaking to Corriere.it, Vettel opened up on Mick’s F1 entry by 2021. “For me, Mick is Mick, and Michael is Michael,” he said. “He is strong. He will lead the way.”

“Unlike everyone else, I don’t connect it to the surname Schumacher because I know what it means,” Vettel said.
Although Mick escaped his junior years in motorsport by racing under a different surname, his upcoming F1 years could be quite hard on him. There is no denying that the young German might be recognized as Michael’s son. However, one good result in the future can turn things around for Mick.

Although Mick’s arrival into F1 did make Vettel delighted, the four-time world champion still had a regret. He also sounded assured that Mick will also have those regrets.

Sebastian Vettel upset Michael will not be there to celebrate Mick Schumacher’s successes
The fact that Michael is in no shape to watch his son celebrate his success in Formula 1 left Vettel upset. “It also makes me a little sad that Michael can’t be here celebrating his son’s successes,” he said. “I don’t know how many other riders would have managed careers like Mick did.”
Michael suffered a life-threatening accident back in 2013, just a year after his retirement from F1. Ever since the accident, Schumacher Jr has been in the pursuit of Formula 1.
