Sports Illustrated once released a list of the 50 most fashionable athletes. Only one name from F1 made it to the list. And it was Lewis Hamilton. The Briton has been a style icon ever since he joined the sport as a wide-eyed boy.

As F1 fans already know, his clothing choices are always the talk of the town.

Ranging “from iridescent, textured tuxedos to effortlessly cool ripped jeans, a hoodie, an overcoat and destroyed Timberland boots. The reigning F1 world champion became an ambassador for London men’s fashion in June and his expertly curated Instagram feed shows his passion and celebrates his fashion exploits. Hamilton is the new standard of cool,” said Rachel Johnson, CEO, and stylist at Thomas Faison Agency.

He has also famously experimented with his hairstyle in the past.

Back in 2016, Man For Himself’s Robin James spoke to Lewis Hamilton about his hairstyling choices. “I’ve tried lots with my hair. Obviously I used to have it as a number one all over, super easy, but then I started to grow it out. I had an afro and then I got rid of the sides,” said Lewis.

He also spoke about his blonde phase, “Yeah, I went blonde which killed my hair. It was a disaster. I think it was neat to do it for a bit.”

“But when you’re driving, the helmet squashes your hair, so you don’t really have a hairstyle. When you get out, you’re sweating and your hair is a mess.”

The Briton is a legend on the racetrack for his impeccable driving skills. But he is also revered for his styling choices among the likes of Stella McCartney and Virgil Abloh.

Was Lewis Hamilton going bald?

With the amount of scrutiny and screen-time stars like Hamilton get, it is close to impossible to avoid spotting major changes. Even if you try to cover up with baseball caps.

Fans saw a major change in Lewis’ hairline from his earlier days in F1 compared to his Mercedes championship-winning years.

Leading surgeon Dr. Scott Alexander said, “Lewis Hamilton’s hair has most certainly gone through a dramatic change for the better in recent years and likely he’s been the recipient of a very good hair transplant and using medication such as finasteride to help prevent further loss.

Many patients wish to have surgery and be discrete about it but the fact remains his hair went from zero to hero in a very short period of time which is a tell sign of hair transplant surgery,” he added.
