How the mighty have fallen, and Scuderia Ferrari have fallen hard. The Maranello outfit endured every front-running team’s worst nightmare, having their drivers eliminated in Q2. Unfortunately, both Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel could only muster 13th and 14th places.

It is worth noting that Leclerc very nearly got eliminated in Q1 itself, but made it by the skin of his teeth. After qualifying, the two drivers appeared to be in high spirits and smiling. But is it a facade?

The Italian marquee and its drivers know that they are light years away from championship contention. However, the two drivers were satisfied because they knew that they did the best they could.

Can Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc bounce back?

Truthfully, both drivers are top-notch racers and are more than capable of rocketing up the order. However, the question lies in the car itself, whether it can keep up with its rivals.

The good news for the team is that rain is expected in the race, so their power deficit can be masked. This can also allow Leclerc and Vettel to scythe their way up the order. However, this is only possible as long as they have clean races and can avoid tangling with each other.

For Vettel, it is a chance of redemption, after the miserable few races he has had to endure this season. Since he is leaving Scuderia Ferrari at the end of the 2020 season, he would love to have one last hurrah. This would also give him some good memories with the Italian giants.

At the same time, it would also propel him up the championship standings. He currently has 16 points under his belt, while Leclerc has 45 points. Hopefully, the smiles that Leclerc and Vettel shared at Spa Francorchamps were a sign of a decent race for the squad.
