With the end of Hungarian GP, F1 heads into the 2021 season’s summer break, which will last for four weeks. Hence, the F1 fandom is possibly looking at a rather dull spell ahead.

When is the next F1 race?

F1 will flag off its 12th round of the season at the classic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium on August 27, 2021. Spa will host the usual race weekend comprising FP1, FP2, FP3, qualifying, and ultimately the race.

While the first two practice sessions will take place on Friday, the final practice session will arrive early on Saturday before heading into the crucial qualifying session, which will set the grid for Sunday’s main event.

The Belgian Grand Prix is definitely a fan-favorite, as the 7.004km course possesses some exciting turns and massively long straights. Eau Rouge, of all, is arguably one of the most incredible yet dangerous turns on the current F1 calendar.

Also, with the altitude varying from one turn to another, the amount of grip the track has to offer will vary too, raising the chances of spins and collisions over the weekend.

External factors that could spice up the Belgian GP

The lowest point of the circuit is around turn 15, Curve Paul Frere, at 373m, while the highest point is around turn 5, Les Combes, at 470m.

Hence, situated around 0.5km above mean sea level, the circuit could witness breezy conditions throughout the year. What’s more, the air temperature, too, will mostly remain within 20ºC, which makes it difficult for the drivers to bring their tires up to temperature.

Ultimately, above all, the rain! Spa is famous for witnessing intermittent rains, and F1 has come across wet sessions over almost every race weekend at the circuit too.
