The Iceman is known for his no-nonsense character and his cold responses during press conferences. Hence, Ecclestone feels there won’t be anyone like him on the grid. Furthermore, Bernie feels that the current generation of drivers behave like robots.
Speaking to Sport1, the former F1 boss said, “Kimi as person is a super guy, as a driver, he is a race driver. He is what you want; he races; doesn’t take an awful of a notice of people. In fact, he gives them his opinion. So there isn’t any Kimi‘s today really I don’t think, that’s the problem. They all become very very much a robot, listening and doing what they are told, rather than doing what they think is the right thing to do.”
