While the Australian seems to be struggling at McLaren this year, fans know him best for his time with Red Bull. During his five seasons with the Austrian outfit, Ricciardo challenged for podiums and race wins regularly. In fact, all seven of his career race wins are with Red Bull.

However, fans connected with the Honey Badger because of his personality. The Australian is one of the most hilarious drivers on the grid, which is something to look forward to during the F1 season.

At the press conference ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, Ricciardo addressed the media along with George Russell. When a young fan asked Ricciardo his favorite birthday present from a fan, he admitted it was a nasal trimmer.

He said, “I once got a nasal trimmer, I’m pretty sure it was in Japan. I’m not sure if they were trying to say something..! It was interesting!”

However, he also admitted his best present was the call he got to take part in the 2011 British Grand Prix. “I got the news I’d be competing at Silverstone in 2011 around my birthday,” said the Australian.

With just 34 points from the first eight races, Ricciardo’s struggles are evident this year. In addition, the fact that his teammate Lando Norris is 52 points ahead of him doesn’t make his season any easier.

Although the Austrian Grand Prix will take place on the Red Bull Ring itself, Ricciardo will hope his second outing in Spielberg is a positive one. With McLaren in a close battle with Ferrari, the team need the Australian to score more points in the races that remain. Although he’s shown flashes of real speed, the Honey Badger will hope he can finish consistently in the points.
