One line, one idea, and even one text can change someone’s life. We know, the previous statement sounds like a cliched statement. However, we have a real-life scenario in the world of F1 to prove this its veracity. In fact, this one text changed the lives of none other than Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton. This one text not only made Pitt a fanatic but also set him on a course to start a $140 million passion project which roped the Mercedes man in as well.

We have the account of Hollywood star Dax Shard to prove this. The American actor, as seen in an Instagram video by the Red Flags podcast, revealed how Pitt got into Formula 1. In fact, in his account, he’s the real hero of the story.

He said, “This is vomitous, what I’m about to tell you. I know Brad Pitt and we both love MotoGP. We have done track dates together on motorcycles, right? And so we text occasionally. About two years ago, I text him, I swear to god I have it. I said, ‘You have got to watch this show Drive to Survive. Call me you’re finished. I guarantee it’ll be within a day.’

“I get a text message at 3 a.m that says, ‘I’m on season 3 episode 8,’ or whatever. He [Pitt] has started, and he has not stopped. Then I see he’s doing a f**king movie about Formula 1 and he’s palling around with Lewis [Hamilton] and I’m telling you guys, I am responsible for that,” said Dax Shepard.

There you have it folks, without Shepard, we would never have this mega F1 movie. However, we might still not, or at least not without significant delay thanks to all the setbacks.  Regardless, the Brit is having the time of his life working on this project.

He stated, “I want to make the movie, in terms of like having diversity and representation, I want it to be as Formula 1 should be in the future – or should be now, but will be in the future.”
