Daniel Ricciardo secured a P5 finish at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The McLaren driver started the race from P6 and gained a position in the race after Max Verstappen’s opening lap crash. But few know that the Aussie driver was down with hay fever in the race.

Ricciardo did not mention his ill health to anyone during the weekend to focus on the race. He stated he was feeling ill on Lap 12 and trying to keep a charging Carlos Sainz behind.

“As Daniel said also after the race, there are still things obviously to improve to match Lando, but the important thing is he’s making steps, feeling more comfortable in the car in both quali and the race and it was a big step forward compared to previous races which was good,” said Seidl.
