The famous Silverstone Circuit is all set to host the 2021 F1 British Grand Prix, but with certain refreshing developments compared to 2020.

Of course, one of them is the inclusion of sprint race qualifying session into the weekend. But, the other is the return of fans to the Grand Prix without restrictions.

COVID-19 pandemic meant that the United Kingdom had to restrict any massive gatherings. Hence, the government decided to host sporting events, including F1 and Premier League Football behind closed doors.

However, after a year-long wait, F1 is set to break the shackles; The British Grand Prix is likely to witness the biggest UK crowd gathering since the start of the pandemic.

Possible attendance at the 2021 British GP weekend

The Silverstone circuit holds a capacity to seat 140,000 spectators. However, there were concerns over how the UK government would react, considering relaxations are officially taking place only a day after the race weekend ends at Silverstone.

Thankfully, the government acknowledged F1’s request to open up the circuit to the fans, who had been waiting eagerly for almost 2 years.

Hence, Silverstone is likely to witness a total attendance of 140,000 spectators, which will consequently break the previous record of 2021 in Austria.

The recently concluded Austrian Grand Prix witnessed completely packed stands, housing over 113,000 spectators. The Dutch fans somehow managed to provide a celebratory mood to the weekend, cherishing their homeboy, Max Verstappen.

Similarly, the approaching weekend at Silverstone is going to be the weekend for Lewis Hamilton.

Can the British F1 fans help Hamilton make a comeback at Silverstone?

Mercedes’ morale has been steadily declining since Red Bull’s resurgence this season. What’s more, their savior, Hamilton is visibly struggling, causing unusual errors on the track. Amidst such a troubled phase at present, the British GP will be a huge sigh of relief for the title contender.
