There were a lot of factors contributing to Verstappen’s fall to P4, as some would speculate. First, Verstappen racing on medium compounds was a grave and uncharacteristic error from Red Bull. Second, Verstappen’s left front wing damage during his tussle with Carlos Sainz. However, speculation aside, Verstappen himself has passed his judgment on his sprint result at the interview.

The Red Bull man even made his stance clear when asked about the front-wing damage. “I mean at the end of the day I would’ve finished fourth anyway, with a complete front wing or not.”
