The hero of a movie is only as strong as the Villain. In Formula we have Fernando Alonso, who is as good as a Hero can be with the Villainous side still inside him. But it was not always like this. Some habits are hard to get rid of no matter how hard you try as he showed hints of the Anti-Hero personality coming back, but not for his team. The Spaniard received backlash from fans as he took his latest jab at Esteban Ocon. What did Alonso say about Ocon? What did the fans think of it?

The F1 community suggests that Fernando Alonso’s move to Aston Martin is the revival of the 2005-06 championship-winning Alonso. It’s not only his career that’s been given a new life but his attitude as well. Once known as the villain of F1, the Spaniard is now seen as the mentor to young Lance Stroll. The two Aston Martin drivers work in tandem, supporting each other to do better as we saw at the Azerbaijan GP where Stroll refused to attack Alonso, and at Miami where Alonso praised Stroll’s overtake.

In a recent interview, Fernando Alonso was praising Lance Stroll for his teamwork. The Canadian looks up to Alonso as the two share data and thoughts about the car every weekend to help the team propel forward. Nevertheless, the 41-year-old channeled his inner Villain for a brief moment as he took a Jab at Esteban Ocon after the Shenanigans of the 2022 season, where the Frenchman defended against Alonso like a lion at multiple tracks.

According to the Tweet, Fernando Alonso while talking about the teamwork at Aston Martin  said “Lance is a driver who thinks like a team-mate, as we saw in Baku.” He continued and took a Jab at former teammate Esteban Ocon by adding “Last year, the opposite happened to me. I was always my team-mate’s first target, and that obviously doesn’t benefit the team at all”.

Fernando Alonso suggested at the 2022 Brazilian GP that he is happy about only having some races left with Esteban Ocon. Fans reacted to Alonso’s comments about Esteban Ocon, as they seem to be unhappy with the way the Spaniard spoke about his former teammate. Let’s see what they have to say.

Fans React to Fernando Alonso Taking a Jab at Esteban Ocon

Fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure at how Fernando Alonso talked about Esteban Ocon targeting him as they defended the Frenchman. The comments backfired on Alonso as many fans suggested that he only praises his teammate when they are not competitive and don’t race against him. Others suggested that it was not possible for the veteran to handle a teammate who was as fast as him. Let’s see how the fans have reacted:

Many suggested that Lance Stroll does not have a threat of losing his seat in F1 and as a result, does not race as hard as Esteban Ocon did.
