It was a shock for Formula One when Ferrari dropped Sebastian Vettel for Carlos Sainz. Vettel had been the main man at the Italian team for five seasons, who was fighting for championships. It made sense that Carlos Sainz accepted to join Ferrari as he was instrumental in McLaren’s recent success.

There might have been some doubts from Sainz going into Ferrari after the disastrous 2020 season. But the Spanish driver mentioned he was very much looking forward to driving for the legendary brand and challenge Charles Leclerc. At the mid-season break, Sainz analyzed his first half of the season with Ferrari.

The relationship with Charles Leclerc is super good. I’m enjoying it a lot because we have this great competition between each other, a bit of banter. After every quali, after every race, we shake hands, but we are pushing, we are flat out.” said Sainz.
