The F1 2022 season is moving to the third race of the season. Now there is a week’s rest for the drivers and teams after two continuous weeks of racing. However, there are drivers like Carlos Sainz who can’t live without racing, and therefore, the Spaniard is getting restless because of no F1 action this week.

The Spaniard had a great season so far. Sainz looked phenomenal in the pre-season testing at Barcelona and Bahrain. He continued with his impressive form in the season opener at Bahrain. The Ferrari man finished second in the first race behind his victorious teammate Charles Leclerc. A week later, the 27-year-old returned to the F1 grid for the second race in Jeddah and again bagged a podium. Sainz finished P3 while Leclerc finished P2 at the Saudi Arabian GP.

After two weeks of thrilling F1 action, the Spaniard is on a break from racing. As there is a week-long break ahead of the Australian GP. But the Spanish driver is not enjoying his Sunday without some racing. So, Sainz shared a picture from his childhood on his Twitter where he looks a little gloomy.

Carlos Sainz is still not in complete sync with the Ferrari car

The Spaniard joined Ferrari last season after spending two years at McLaren. Sainz had a decent season in 2021 with Ferrari. However, the 2022 season has been phenomenal for the Spaniard. He is dominating F1 alongside Charles Leclerc. However, the Monegasque teammate is performing slightly better than Saiz. So, many fans even consider Leclerc to be the Number 1 driver while Sainz to be the Number 2 driver in the Maranello base.

The Spaniard shared that he hasn’t completely adapted to the 2022 Ferrari challenger F1-75. However, he felt better with the car in the Saudi Arabian GP last week. Sainz said, “While I’m still not 100% with the car, to keep bringing the points and the podiums is important until I get back to 100%–then it will be time to join the guys at the top for the fight.”

Even if Sainz isn’t at his 100% he has been a phenomenal addition to the Italian F1 team. In light of this, they are negotiating with Sainz for a new contract, as his current one will expire after the 2022 season.
