The whispers began with the announcement of Andreas Seidl, Sainz’s former boss at McLaren, as Audi’s Chief Executive for the 2026 season. Suddenly, people were whispering Sainz’s name along with Audi, even though his contract with Ferrari didn’t expire until the end of 2024.

The media’s speculation, however, has been met with a firm rebuke from Sainz. In a recent interview, he said, “I really believe that there are simply weeks in Formula 1 when there is nothing to discuss.” Sainz suspects the motivation behind the rumors is clickbait.

He points out that even though he’s not currently in talks with anyone other than Ferrari; the media has jumped the gun, spinning stories about a move that’s not yet on the table.

The Scuderia and Carlos Sainz: A Commitment to Winning

While the rumors swirl, Sainz is staying focused on the task at hand: winning with Ferrari. Despite a challenging 2023 season, Sainz remains committed to the team. He sits fifth in the drivers’ championship after eight of 22 race weekends and is 127 points behind the leader, Max Verstappen.
