Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz comes from a racing family; his father, Carlos Sainz Sr is a Rally car driver and recently has won the Dakar rally. Consequently, Sainz Jr was over the moon seeing his father excel in the world of motorsports. The Spanish driver took to Instagram to show how proud he was of his 59-YO father’s achievement.

Sainz and his father share a special bond, the kind that unites and benefits them is the world of racing. Hence, it is no surprise to see the Ferrari driver happy that his dad still continues to dominate the world of rally racing.

Carlos Sainz expresses his joy of seeing his dad, Sainz Sr win the Dakar rally

Sainz Sr was extremely pleased with himself as he won the Dakar rally, and took to Instagram to express his joy. He wrote, “P1 Stage 3 – Very happy with today’s victory!! First in history with a car with such a drivetrain system and the 40th for me! Congratulations to the whole Audi sport team!!! Now let’s keep fighting!”

Seeing his father accomplish such a feat, the Spanish driver took to his Instagram story to show how proud he is of his dad. In his Instagram story, Sainz wrote, “What a LEGEND!!”

How did Sainz compare to Charles Leclerc at his first season at Ferrari?

The Spaniard was replacing four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel. As a result, Sainz had a lot riding on him when he signed a contract with Ferrari for the 2021 season. Leclerc, on the other hand, has been with the Italian team since 2019 and has achieved critical results.

The Ferrari driver in Sainz finished fifth in the drivers’ championship with four podiums and 164.5 points. On the other hand, Leclerc ended the season in seventh place with 159 points after earning two pole positions and one podium.
