After the news of Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari broke out, Carlos Sainz Jr. was left without a seat for 2025. Despite his marvelous performance this season, Sainz is yet to find a seat for the upcoming season. Luckily, almost any team would be delighted to have him, but which team is the best for his career?

Currently, Red Bull, Mercedes, Aston Martin, and Stake F1 are some teams that Sainz could move into. However, his decision will enormously impact his ability to perform next season. Currently, Red Bull is the strongest team to put your money on, but with Max Verstappen there, he wouldn’t want to return to his former team. To give us a different perspective, Peter Windsor appeared to discuss Carlos Sainz Jr’s future in F1.

Peter Windsor has been an influential figure within the F1 fraternity, and that comes with his years of experience following the sport. He was also the General Manager for Ferrari briefly, and looking at the replacement, he started to note all the teams that Sainz had going for him.

Windsor spoke about the situation from Sainz’s view and stated, “So from Carlos’s point of view, obviously he wants a long-term deal with a top team, and he’s going to set it out as long as he can to see if that option eventuates and it may be at Red Bull, it may be at Mercedes, maybe at Aston Martin, you know, something might happen.”

He continued, “I don’t want to spell it out, but, obviously at some point, maybe a driver might be sidelined or something, and there might be an opportunity that’s all Carlos is doing right now, waiting.” Sainz has been waiting for the right opportunity to come by while he continues to prove himself on the tracks.

Ultimately breaking the silence on where he believes Sainz will end up, the former Ferrari Boss stated, “I think the only real option he’s got, that potentially if he had to sign a contract tomorrow, would be, I guess, would be Audi and having to write off ’25 in a saber where he’s not going to be very quick.” However, this might not be the best move for Sainz.

Why is Audi not the best team for Carlos Sainz Jr?

Audi will be one refreshing name compared to all the other teams on the grid. While team takeovers are common in F1, Stake F1, the team that will become Audi, is not performing this season. In order to make it to Audi, Carlos Sainz will need to drive in either Stake F1 or another team for 2025 before driving with Audi.

Considering his father’s ties with the team, it’s suspected that Audi will make him a generous offer. Audi will still need to work on their car to become competitive, which might take time from Carlos Sainz’s career. He is not as young as most of the drivers on the grid, and if he aims to win the world championship title, he will need to work on it as soon as possible.

Carlos Sainz is currently looking for a driver who can beat Max Verstappen if given the ideal support he needs. While Audi will be committed to him, the team might need a year or two to compete with the dominant Red Bull team.

With that said, which team do you think Carlos Sainz goes to after the 2024 season? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
