It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and perceptions toward the Las Vegas GP in the past year since its announcement. What started off as high anticipation quickly turned into backlash as the race weekend drew closer. However, after an incredibly eventful weekend on the track, we have some stats that will prove the 2023 Las Vegas GP was a success off the track as well.

The preparation for the first-ever Las Vegas Street Circuit race took a toll on the city, with businesses and locals being affected. Things even took a turn for the worse after the FP1 debacle, which saw the fans miss out on all the action on Thursday. However, we can leave all of this in the past with one example from one hotel, the Wynn.

The Wynn Hotel was one of the main benefactors of the race weekend, and as it stands, they took full advantage of it. We are all aware of Sin City’s biggest attraction, the casinos. So, on average, the dealers pocket about $350-$400 a weekend. However, the Las Vegas GP weekend shattered those numbers.

For the first time in 18 years, in Wynn’s history, the dealers distributed their tips from a massive $700,000 pool. This meant each dealer went home with $2000 each after the Saturday night alone. That is easily 5-6 times more than their average tip.

We are not sure if the criticism will die down just yet for the general audience. However, the ones who experienced the race weekend firsthand, including some drivers, enjoyed the Las Vegas GP race weekend.

Apart from enjoying themselves, some even took advantage of the Vegas crowd, like Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton faulted his Plus44 x Takashi Murakami jacket at the Wynn Hotel pop-up

More than an F1 racer, the seven-time world champion is an investor and brand owner. So as to keep up with his life off the track, the Mercedes man wastes no opportunity. This is exactly what he did during the Las Vegas GP weekend as well.

Hamilton recently launched a collection in collaboration with one of his favorite artists, Takashi Murakami, for his brand Plus44. The products were launched online but also made an offline appearance at the Wynn Hotel.

Plus44 did a pop-up in the hotel during the race weekend, showcasing the latest merchandise drop. Gracing the event, even Hamilton showed up donning the $200 Fast Trip pit crew jacket.
