What a brain freeze that was!! Red Bull driver Sergio Perez was doing his best to stay in the final podium positions against a charging George Russell in the race’s final stages. But a late VSC did not work in favor of the Mexican driver.
Just when the virtual safety car period ended, that caught him and made it easy for the British driver to pass him. It was indeed a surprise to see a driver caught out by a VSC ending like that. The brain freeze moment ultimately cost Perez a P3 finish.

Who Owns the Red Bull F1 Team?
The Mexican driver was really struggling throughout the whole weekend to match the pace of his teammate. Although he did have a good qualifying and started the race from P3.

Perez called the French Grand Prix weekend the worst of his 2022 season. He called the qualifying session a good recovery looking at his weekend.
“It’s been a good recovery. I’ve been nowhere the whole weekend, to be honest, and I’ve been struggling a lot; I think probably it’s been my worst weekend up to qualifying and finally, we managed to recover well in quali,” said Perez.
