Ferrari Team Principal, Mattia Binotto, is eyeing for the race victory ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix. Ferrari has endured a solid start to the season after excellent pre-season results. The momentum is with them, and Binotto and co will look to carry it to the race. Moreover, the 2 drivers have now echoed Binotto’s words as well.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are confident ahead of the Grand Prix. They have not downplayed their pre-season favorites tag as they aim to take the throne from Mercedes this season. The pair are into their second year together and will look to propel Ferrari’s chances of fighting for the Championship.
Leclerc and Sainz on the Bahrain GP
The belief in the Ferrari camp is at an all-time high. The team feels that they have a car that has the potential to compete for the championship. Earlier, Mattia Binotto conveyed he was satisfied with the FIA’s decision to revamp the regulations.
He also revealed Ferrari will not settle for a second place in Bahrain. The Italian said, “No, this time I would not sign a second place in Sakhir. We want the best in every race and I think we will be competitive immediately.” Binotto also admitted that Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will be their closest competitor in the Bahrain GP.

Charles Leclerc further agreed with Binotto, and is bullish about Ferrari’s prospects this time. He has said, “Like Binotto, I don’t sign up for second place either. There is optimism because I know how hard we worked to stay ahead and fight.”

His fellow driver Carlos Sainz moved from McLaren to Ferrari to compete for podiums and race victories. And the Spaniard also claims that the team’s ambition is to fight for the championship. However, he also admitted that he does not know where they stand at the moment. “Ferrari must aim for victories. We don’t know where we are, but Ferrari’s goal is to fight to win.” he explained.
