When Ferrari turned up to Bahrain for the first race of 2022, it looked as though they were on course to win the championship this season. The F1-75 should have guaranteed that Charles Leclerc would be the first Ferrari World Champion, after Kimi Raikkonen in 2007, of course.
This year, however, reliability issues have dented any chance that Ferrari & Co. had of stopping Red Bull and Max Verstappen on the way to a consecutive Driver’s World Championship. Having said that, Monza is the Scuderia’s home ground. Something special always happens here.

According to Will Buxton, the Ferrari drivers are in a very optimistic mood. Buxton took to Twitter to share that, “Charles is beaming”, and went on to explain that the Monegasque feels that they can beat the Red Bulls on pure pace in qualifying. He ended the Tweet by saying, “Carlos v happy too. Very happy camp at Ferrari tonight.”.
Leclerc and Ferrari will hope that they can take pole and win at Monza. However, they need not look too far back to gain some motivation for it. Leclerc won the Italian Grand Prix for the team from Maranello back in 2019. His first season with the Scuderia!

Speaking to the media on Friday, Leclerc had a few words to say about that day. When asked how it felt to win at Monza with Ferrari, Leclerc said, “It’s very difficult to put into words but obviously loads of emotions. It was crazy!”.
