Charles Leclerc Geared Up to Follow “Courageous” Lewis Hamilton’s Lead To Pursue Long Cherished Dream

F1 drivers often have spoken about some quirky interests they have outside the sport. Be it cooking, music, fashion, or anything, they always have the plan to pursue it post the adrenaline-filled of F1. Charles Leclerc has also got a similar interest and dream to pursue in the future. Although, his dream coincides with what 7-time champion Lewis Hamilton has already pursued and accomplished.

As per Express UK, in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Leclerc has showered praises on Hamilton for his fashion activities. The Ferrari driver specifically appreciated Hamilton’s unique and “courageous” fashion sense. He said, “Sometimes we [Leclerc and Hamilton] discuss the brands we like. He really has [a] good taste and a lot of courage to show off the strangest looks when he comes to the circuits.”

Hamilton launched his line of clothing apparel back in 2018 in collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. This line was called TommyXLewis. Charles revealed to La Gazzetta his long-cherished dream to launch his clothing line. But, his team Ferrari denied him to do so. He said, “I had started the project, but I stopped. Maybe in the future.”

His former teammate Sebastian Vettel revealed this on Drive to Survive in 2020 how Ferrari asked Leclerc to shelf his fashion project. Nevertheless, the Monegasque will want to follow Lewis’s lead once he leaves the Scuderia or maybe even after his retirement from F1.

Even Hamilton has been quite appreciative of Leclerc’s talent. The way the Ferrari star had battled with him during the 2019 season, Lewis had to concede victory to Charles’s amazing pace. It has been a battle to cherish since then whenever this duo tussled in F1.

In 2019, Charles Leclerc was just in his sophomore year and still got the chance to drive for Ferrari. Nevertheless, Leclerc showed his skills by outdriving his 4-time champion teammate Vettel. The Monegasque driver was utterly close to claiming his maiden F1 win in Bahrain, only for a reliability problem and Lewis Hamilton overtaking him due to the same.

Though, Charles got his redemption in the same year against Lewis. The duo faced off again at Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian GP. It was an emotional weekend for Leclerc as his mate Anthoine Hubert passed away in a crash that weekend. Still, he held his never under pressure from the Mercedes legend to claim his maiden win.

It was a strategic battle to the end as Ferrari and Leclerc held off the silver car of Hamilton in a comprehensive win. This battle followed on to Italy. Hamilton once again challenged pole-sitter Leclerc for the Italian GP win in Monza.

This race saw the fiercest of the fighting on track between Lewis and Charles. Although, Leclerc once again managed to keep his Ferrari SF-90 ahead of the Mercedes W10. Achieving a famous home win for the Scuderia at Monza in front of the Tifosi. It just could not have gone better for Charles Leclerc.
