Charles Leclerc Hints at Finalized Ferrari Contract With a Strong Promise for the Future

Tifosi’s much-awaited day might finally be arriving. Charles Leclerc and Ferrari have not yet officially announced the contract for 2025 and beyond. There were reports over a week ago stating that the Monegasque has finalized a 5-year, $54 million a year deal with the Maranello outfit. But after that update, everything fell silent. But not for long. Leclerc has now shown strong intent, hinting that the final announcement is on the cards.
Charles Leclerc is the golden boy of Ferrari. Ever since he joined the team in 2019, the Tifosi have backed him like no other team’s fans can. And now, as he moves into 2024, the last year of his active contract, a certain uncertainty floats in their minds. To clear any doubts that they may have, the Monegasque has spoken about the high-pressure Ferrari contract and how willing he is to carry on their motorsport legacy.
🔴 Leclerc (Ferrari) : "Quiconque signe un contrat avec Ferrari, qu'il soit pilote ou à tout autre titre, doit accepter qu'il sera soumis à plus de pression que les autres. Cela ne me pose aucun problème. Je pense que nous gérons cette situation mieux que par le passé."

“Ferrari is Ferrari for a reason,” Leclerc told AMuS. “There is a completely different passion there. Anyone who signs a contract with Ferrari, whether as a driver or in any other capacity, must accept that he will be under more pressure than others. That poses no problem to me. I think we are handling this situation better than in the past.”
Now that’s what intent sounds like. And it’s not just Tifosi who wants Ferrari to immediately renew Leclerc’s contract but rival Team Principals as well.

What Lewis Hamilton is to Mercedes, Charles Leclerc is to Ferrari. Both drivers dedicated to creating a legacy with their teams for the future superstars to follow. While Hamilton has done it successfully with multiple World Championships, Leclerc is yet to have a chance at one. The inconsistency from Frederic Vasseur & Co. might be difficult to handle, but for the Monegasque, winning with Ferrari is above all.
Addressing his contract with Ferrari, Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner told Sky Sports, “It’s totally natural. He’s a great driver and I’m sure they’ll want to keep hold of him. They’d be crazy if they didn’t .” Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff followed suit with his similar reasoning to state the obvious, ” I don’t know anything about the contractual situation there, but he’s a great guy and why wouldn’t Ferrari sign him? “
