Charles Leclerc is being given the golden boy treatment at Ferrari. The Italian team has given its number 16 driver the S90, the same car in which he won the race at Monza and Spa back in 2019.

In that season, Leclerc won two races, the Belgium Grand Prix, and the other one being the most notable win at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. He finished fourth in the driver’s standings, while Hamilton won the title.

The Italian team scored 504 points that season which saw them finish second in the standings while their rivals from Brackley took home the championship.

The 23-year-old took to Instagram to appreciate what the team had sent him.

After a disappointing 2020 season that saw the team finish 6th in the championship, Leclerc hopes the Scuderia goes back to the top. With a new teammate in Carlos Sainz, the Maranello-based outfit hopes to bounce back in 2021.

Because Carlos has never been in such an important team: he has built up over time, arrives with determination and experience, he is used to confronting fast teammates. He’s cold, he’s studying, he can be very annoying to Charles.”

In his first race for the Italian team, Sainz finished in eighth place while Leclerc crossed the line in sixth place. The next round of the 2021 championship takes us to Imola for the Ferrari’s home Grand Prix.
