The trouble brewing at Maranello has evidently come to an end now. Losing the second place in the World Drivers’ Championship to Lando Norris had frustrated Charles Leclerc quite a bit. At the Spanish GP, the McLaren racer got a P2 finish, surpassing Leclerc on the rankings by 2 points. Then, the Monegasque took a dig at his teammate Carlos Sainz, claiming it was the #55 racer who delayed him. He even blamed Sainz for holding him back from scoring more points in Barcelona.

Despite bashing Carlos Sainz in the post-race press interview in Barcelona, Leclerc has now revealed he has buried the hatchet with him. While commenting on their dynamics ahead of the Austrian GP, Charles dismissed any concerns about a dispute. The Monegasque revealed they had taken the same fight to reach the Red Bull Ring for this Sunday’s race. Added to this, he downplayed the heated exchange he had had with Sainz earlier, calling it a result of the ‘heat of the moment’.

Charles Leclerc explained how things were going between the Ferrari racers. He emphasized, “[We] came back on the same plane on Sunday night and it was a matter of seeing each other, everything good, we had a discussion as always. and I think that it always seems huge from the outside, but we have known each other so well for many years and we know that after the race there’s tension,” adding, “We’re both in the heat of the moment disappointed with each other, then we speak together and all is good. I’m not worried at all.” Additionally, the #16 racer has also quelled the rumors that said their recent contract dealings with Ferrari had soured their relationship.

Charles Leclerc announced, back at the beginning of the current F1 season, that he had signed a multi-year deal with Ferrari. On the other hand, the Scuderia revealed they have taken up Lewis Hamilton in Carlos Sainz’s place for their 2025 campaign. When Leclerc and Sainz locked horns with each other in Spain last week, several onlookers guessed it was because the Spaniard was unhappy with the Italian team for giving him the boot. What did Carlos Sainz say regarding his Ferrari exit that further proved his discontent?

Carlos Sainz confessed feelings towards Ferrari after they ‘dumped’ him

At the start of 2025, F1 town chanced upon the overwhelming news of Lewis Hamilton shifting from Mercedes to Ferrari. In a shocking turn of events, the Scuderia revealed the 7-time World Champion would replace Carlos Sainz. However, the Spaniard has claimed he had no wind of this move until the eleventh hour. The 29-year-old even spat out at his team for ousting him so unexpectedly, claiming he did not take it well.

While shedding light on how he reacted to the news of Ferrari discontinuing his deal, Carlos Sainz said, “No one likes being dumped. They dumped me in February, and obviously, I felt bad.” Feeling bad is justified since he never expected this news as the only non-Red Bull racer to win a Grand Prix last year in Singapore. However, he admitted that he could not defend his seat against Lewis, who comes with his enormous experience of winning 103 F1 races and seven world titles.

Despite the hard feelings towards his current team, Carlos Sainz has vowed to leave no stone unturned, hoping to make his last season with Ferrari memorable. The Spaniard has already won the Australian GP this year, and has even attained 4 podium victories. At the moment, with his P4 position in the World Championship, he must now work hand in hand with teammate Charles Leclerc.
