Last year, Formula One launched the ‘F1 Tracks’ playlist. This playlist would be available on music streaming apps such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. Since its release, F1 Tracks is updated on a weekly basis.
According to the official F1 website, the songs on the playlist are “Filtered according to four key categories – Pace, Mechanical, Spirit, and Fan and will produce a bespoke and dynamic playlist, which embodies F1.”
Earlier this month, they launched a segment called ‘driver takeover’ where an F1 driver puts up their playlist on F1 Tracks. After Lance Stroll did so in the first week of June, the next driver to take over the playlist is Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
The Monegasque driver who races for Ferrari put up a playlist of 12 songs on Spotify. Leclerc’s playlist begins with ‘A-Punk’ by Vampire Weekend, followed by Coldplay’s famous ‘Hymn for the Weekend.
Third, on Charles’ playlist is ‘Hard to beat’ by Hard-FI, after that comes ‘Genesis’ by Justice. The fifth song is ‘Naive’ by The Kooks.
In at sixth comes ‘Waves – Tame Impala Remix’ by Miguel and Tame Impala. Then there is ‘On’n’On’ which is the second song by Justice to feature on the playlist.
The 8th song on the Ferrari driver’s playlist is ‘Golden Eyes’ by Jordan Bratton, followed by yet another Justice song, ‘Horsepower.’ The playlist hits the double-digit mark with ‘Groceries’ by Mallrat.
The penultimate song on the playlist is ‘Viva La Vida’ by Coldplay. The song that rounds out the playlist is ‘Flight’ by Aritus. This playlist can help F1 fans kill time until the season opener comes around, in Austria on July 5th.
Meanwhile, when he’s not preparing playlists, Leclerc has been busy preparing for the start of the 2020 F1 season. The Ferrari driver took the new SF1000 for a spin, around the city of Maranello.
Thereafter, he hit the track in Mugello, alongside his teammate Sebastian Vettel for pre-season testing. After impressing in his first season at Scuderia, Leclerc will be looking to dethrone Lewis Hamilton as the Drivers’ champion this season.
