In the wake of the coronavirus crisis, every sporting activity is on hold, including the 2020 Formula One season. So, in order to give fans at least something to cheer about, F1 came up with a virtual championship. Already, a few F1 drivers like Lando Norris are participating for the fun of it, and a few non-F1 drivers, gamers and non-racing drivers are also participating. So far, Charles Leclerc has been dominant in the past couple of races.
When he spoke about his victories, he said, “I’m actually enjoying very much playing, and streaming. And I enjoy it even more when I win. But the post race celebrations are somehow feeling a bit different. Switching off the computer and go cook white pasta is a bit less glamour than spraying champagne on the podium.”
Of course, there is no champagne being sprayed, since everyone is stuck at home. So Charles Leclerc has to improve, and I daresay, he certainly has the right idea to treat himself to a piping hot meal after a win.

How is Charles Leclerc dealing with the pandemic?
Leclerc’s Chinese GP win happens to be his second consecutive win in the virtual world. He kick-started the race on pole position and finished ahead of Red Bull’s Alex Albon and Formula 2 driver Guanyu Zhou.

In the meantime, all 20 drivers and their respective teams are anxiously awaiting the 2020 season’s official commencement. Unfortunately, with 9 of the 22 races out for the count, F1 is in major trouble. Many teams are worried about the financial repercussions of losing so many races.
Rest assured, everyone is observing their respective countries’ lockdown rules. However none of them are sitting idle during their extended period of isolation. They are all still training and maintaining their physique in order to stay fit and be ready in case the season finally resumes.
