Charles Leclerc Reveals What He Will Miss Most About Sebastian Vettel as a Teammate

Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel raced as teammates Scuderia Ferrari for two years. Despite the rivalry that eventually developed, the two were able to establish a good rapport. As the more experienced head, Vettel helped Leclerc grow and develop as a driver, and needless to say, the Monegasque liked and appreciated Seb’s help and advice.

He said, ” his experience. In certain situations he had great analytical skills, and I think I learned a lot from Seb in this respect.

“I realized that the importance he gave to some details in the end made a big difference on the track, it was very interesting for me to evaluate these aspects.”

Now, both drivers have new challenges ahead of them in the 2021 F1 season. First and foremost, Charles Leclerc has to contend with a young and quick teammate in the form of Carlos Sainz Jr. Meanwhile, Vettel also has his hands full with building up the Aston Martin team and mentoring teammate Lance Stroll.

What to expect from Charles Leclerc?

The Monaco native is pretty much being groomed to be the future of Scuderia Ferrari. Considering that he has a five-year contract in place, the team is looking to him to lead them to glory. Additionally, teammate Sainz has the right amount of youth and experience that can help develop a team.

However, it could be difficult to top someone like Sebastian Vettel, at least from a technical standpoint. According to Charles Leclerc, Vettel possesses some great analytical skills. Even his former team, Red Bull, have confessed that the German driver is ridiculously detail-oriented.

According to Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, Vettel’s debriefs lasted way longer than Mark Webber’s. He even spoke about his current ward, Max Verstappen, and how he continues to improve. Although the Dutchman is not as thorough as Vettel, he seems to be getting there. Who knows, there will soon come a time when Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen and the like, will be able to be as technically sound as Vettel.
