Red Bull Racing has a strong number of dedicated Max Verstappen supporters who are not quite happy with the situation within the team. Christian Horner’s incident keeps taking a new turn and this time more information about the investigation has surfaced. The accuser had lodged a complaint against the Red Bull team principal with the FIA, only to be ignored.

There were 2 complaints over the span of a month where the situation was brought to light, and the second warning came with a media announcement notice. The fact that the FIA did not comply and help the accuser out has brought up many questions about the FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Now with this information out in public, Christian Horner’s position in the team looks shaky again. But this won’t be an issue for the team according to Former professional cyclist, Niki Terpstra.

Niki Terpstra is an eight-time La Primavera cyclist who also enjoys the sport Formula One. Being a Dutchman, it is easy to understand why Red Bull is the team he supports. Max Verstappen a fellow Dutchman, is the current world champion with Red Bull and this brings Terpstra closer to the team. Formula One Magazine asked the cyclist what he thinks about the Red Bull’s dominance on track.

To this, the Dutch cyclist replied saying that the sport would have been more exciting without the dominance but stated that he admires it. But when the question about Christian Horner possibly leaving the team popped up, he replied, “It’s difficult to say, Horner is perhaps the most successful team boss on the grid at the moment. Still, I don’t think it will be a huge problem for Red Bull.” Displaying a strong belief in the team, he thinks that there is more to the team than just the principal.

Further explaining how he understands the situation, he added, “I think that the roles below have also been filled very well in that team. I understand Jonathan Wheatley may take his place. Look, he has been a wish of Horner for years and I will not be surprised if he takes on that position quite easily.” With this statement, he brings up the possibility of the sporting director taking over Horner’s position if he is fired.

Niki Terpstra was not the only one who said positive things about the team though. Ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, Toto Wolff had a few positive words to say about Red Bull too.

Toto Wolff: Credit where credit is due

In a public statement as the Australian Grand Prix approaches, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff decided to share his thoughts on the current dominant team. Wolff announced, “I don’t want to fall into the trap of my fellow team principal from next door in 2014 or 15 who said we should change the regs because it [Mercedes] is too dominant. I think they’ve done the best job of all the teams over the last two years, credit where credit is due.

With this Toto Wolff acknowledges the efforts put by the team and also extends his compliments to Christian Horner. He spoke about how Red Bull disappears into a distance gaining a massive lead on the track. But as the uncertainty in the team continues, there is no telling if Horner will stay with the team or not. That being said, what do you think will ultimately be ruled out by Red Bull for the team principal? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
