Opposite of the gift that keeps on giving, it’s the curse that doesn’t seem to be leaving. We are talking about the still persistent and ongoing drama stemming from the Christian Horner controversy. Somehow the Brit is still under immense pressure and on the brink of expulsion despite being acquitted of his crimes. His not-guilty verdict doesn’t seem to agree with many as he still carries a villainous image around the paddock. However, after another sword was seemingly hanging over his head, a Red Bull spokesperson came forward to clear the air around the boss’s future.

If you’ve been keeping up, you know there have been a lot of repercussions of the allegations toward Horner. He has lost his team’s faith, and F1 entities are openly questioning his credibility despite the verdict whereas some demand his dismissal. His team members are avoiding him and so on. To make matters worse, according to reports from various German media outlets, an existential sword was hanging over Horner’s head in terms of his existence in the sport.

As per the reports, the Thai majority stakeholder of Red Bull changed his mind and wanted to fire the boss. However, the team needed to dismiss such rumors to take the constant attention away from the saga. In order to do so, a Red Bull spokesperson came forward and issued a statement of trust toward Horner to disparage these rumors. As seen on X, the spokesperson said, “As Christian has said, he is grateful for the full support of the shareholders and that remains the case.” (Translated via Google)

The allegations turned everyone toward Horner. Now the F1 world is so attached to the negative outcome of this saga that they can’t seem to let go and side with the British boss. However, Red Bull isn’t helping his case as well. The secret surrounding the investigation and the verdict, despite a 100-page report, is making the bosses question its integrity. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff perfectly pointed out where the doubts were stemming from while discussing the saga.

Wolff said, “I just read the statement, which was pretty basic. My personal opinion is we can’t really look behind the curtain. There is a lady in an organisation that has spoken to HR and said there was an issue and it was investigated and yesterday the sport has received the message that it’s all fine, we’ve looked at it. I believe with the aspiration as a global sport, on such critical topics, it needs more transparency and I wonder what the sport’s position is?
