Nico Hulkenberg is the kind of person who does not have any haters. Widely loved by the fans, he is currently a reserve driver for the Aston Martin F1 Team. Fans were treated to a surprise yesterday when Nico Hulkenberg and his girlfriend Egle Ruskyte announced the arrival of their baby girl on Instagram. Named Noemi Sky, she’s the first child of the famed F1 driver.

Nico Hulkenberg welcomes a baby girl into the world

Nico’s girlfriend since 2015, Egle runs her own fashion business that specializes in handmade beachwear and crochet clothes; quite fittingly, she calls herself The Crochet Girl. She has been posting pictures of her baby bump for a long time on Instagram. In her last post, she mentioned that the possible date of birth for her daughter would be the 30.

However, the stars seemed to have aligned for the Hulkenberg family a week prior to the due date.

Hulkenberg posted a beautiful family picture including his pet dog, his daughter, and his wife, with the caption, “Something is different since last Friday afternoon when our baby girl Noemi Sky joined us in the world. Mother & Daughter are well and parents couldn’t be more proud.”

The congratulations have started pouring in with Pierre Gasly leading the way in the comments of the post. F1 paddock photographer Kym Illman commented, “Lap it up, good people. It’s a buzz huh! Love to both of you.”

Former F1 driver and father of Max Verstappen, Jos Verstappen, also joined in to congratulate the couple along with Max’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet.

Current F1 drivers with children

In the current F1 grid, there are three drivers who are fathers. Alfa Romeo driver Kimi Raikkonen has a son named Robin, who is seen quite often in the paddock, and a daughter, Rianna.

Then there’s Red Bull’s Sergio Perez. He has a son named Sergio Jr and a daughter Carlotta.

And at last, there’s Sebastian Vettel, father to two daughters and a son.

Nico Hulkenburg raced for Racing Point last season on three occasions, replacing their COVID-stricken drivers. Fans would absolutely love to see him back on the grid.
