The rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen has never been this intense, with both of them pushing each other for the lead in the title race. While many believe this year’s fight is taking place in the mental realm as well, former F1 driver, David Coulthard doesn’t think so.

Often, when rivalries get intense, opponents try to get into each other’s heads to come out on top. But, in the case of Hamilton, Coulthard doesn’t think the seven-time world champion is concerned about the Red Bull prodigy.

There have been two turning points this season in the Hamilton-Verstappen rivalry; one at Silverstone and the other in Monza. However, despite these two dramatic races, the Mercedes driver isn’t distracted by Max, according to Coulthard.

Speaking to ServusTV’s talk show, ‘Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar 7’, as quoted by Formule1, Coulthard said, “I don’t believe Verstappen is in Hamilton’s head. They both have a strong team behind them. They know they can always win. That gives me a lot of confidence.” (Translated via Google Translate)
