McLaren star Lando Norris feels lucky to be racing alongside Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion is a fellow Briton and has been racing for years before young Norris even step foot in the F1 world. Understandably, after 7 championship wins and a dominant era, Hamilton has clearly influenced many.

Norris and Hamilton actually have a huge generational gap. The 22-year-old believes that just like Ayrton Senna or Michael Schumacher, the Knight has had his own era. Safe to say, Norris’s thoughts are agreeable given Hamilton was only beaten twice in the last 8 years and starts his 300th race this weekend.

In a new interview ahead of the next race, the McLaren driver reflected, “You hear about the battles he has had, and those guys had with [Alain] Prost and [Nigel] Mansell. In 20 or 30 years’ time it’s going to be the same about Lewis racing Seb and Max.”

“Then somewhere there’s my name a bit further down … You take it for granted initially because you are doing your own thing but in 30 years’ time that’s when you realise you were in a way lucky to be racing in that time.”

The two drivers share a great respect for each other. The champion, while racing against his younger British counterpart, had even called him a “great driver” even though Norris is just in his early 20s.

What is in store for Lewis Hamilton next?

Many believe Hamilton’s season is yet to be defined. After brutal struggles that even gave him intense back pain, the driver has finally found footing in his W13. With Mercedes suddenly picking up their performance, it’s highly likely that Hamilton could contend for a race win.

The Red and the Blue still lead the Practice sessions, but many believe that the Silver Arrows, from here on, will close the gap further race by race. The last four races have seen a Mercedes man on the podium. Further, Hamilton has been extraordinarily competitive producing some of the finest races this season has had.
