Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris is a driver pairing that fans admire. The McLaren stars are undoubtedly two of the most sought-after drivers’ on the current grid.

There was a bubbling excitement when Daniel’s contract with McLaren was announced. A Lando-Daniel driving duo was something fans looked forward to.

Fans widely regard Lando as a fan favorite owing to his friendship with Carlos Sainz. The duo’s unrivaled chemistry and a genuine bond with each other were a sight to sore eyes. Famously, fans also know Ricciardo to be an incredibly fun-loving person. Many naturally expected Lando and Daniel to bond quickly right after Carlos left McLaren.

However, DTS’s portrayal of the duo’s relationship left several concerned. Many criticized Lando for making unkind comments towards the Aussie man. Despite that, surprisingly, the two seem extremely comfortable with each other and enjoy their time together. Lando in a recent video even said, “ Daniel’s great to be honest. I think we’re both similarish in a way that we enjoy our time in Formula 1 and we’re jokey and fun so on..”

Their friendship has definitely grown over time. Moreover, this is their second year together with each other, and they already look a lot better together. Ricciardo also shared his views on their relationship and said, “He brings I think youth to that kind of young, fearless attitude. I mean I like hanging out with him because it makes me feel young and silly again. Yeah so the more we hangout probably the worse it is for me.”

McLaren know the drivers they want

McLaren Boss Zak Brown also explained what it takes to be a McLaren driver. Besides an obvious skill and talent in the car, he claimed one has to be a “very likeable person”. Honestly, both the McLaren drivers’ embody this quality for the fans. Fast on the grid and compassionate off the grid, Ricciardo and Norris are widely popular and have risen the papaya team’s likeability quotient.

Though the team’s last race was a struggle, they were nowhere near giving up. The season has been particularly hard for Ricciardo, and fans wish for the Honey Badger’s quick comeback.
