Formula 1 can test the perseverance of some of the strongest drivers. Daniel Ricciardo is probably one of the funniest and jolliest personalities on the grid. But things have been going south for the Australian driver for the past few months. He now finds himself without a confirmed seat for next year.

Ricciardo’s poor performances for McLaren saw the Woking-based team mutually terminate the Australian’s contract. Recently, former Team Principal Christian Horner came to the McLaren driver’s support. Despite ditching Red Bull for Renault in 2018, Horner has insisted that Daniel still has a lot to offer in F1.
Speaking to F1’s Beyond The Grid podcast, Horner stated, “It’s a great shame because he’s a big personality and a great, great driver. He’s obviously lost his way a bit, but it would be great to see him remain in the sport.”
The Red Bull boss also stated that he would re-hire Daniel if he was the current Alpine Team Principal. He suggested that the former Renault driver can find himself again and that he just needs to hit the ‘reset’ button.
Christian told, “He’s the type of guy… you could rebuild him. It’s obviously not been a great experience for him for whatever reason and you’ve just got to think back to some of the drives he did for us, some of the wins he had, the podiums, some of the stunning overtakes that he was capable of.”
Horner further adds, “That’s still in there, I’m sure. He just needs a bit of a reset.”
