Daniel Ricciardo declared that moving on from a team is always emotional. After having worked so closely with a team, one forges some close relationships. Moving on from that to a whole new environment has to be emotional.

He said, “These decisions aren’t easy, and moving on isn’t easy, of course. I am an emotional person, in terms of I tend to care about people’s feelings. So moving on, I guess that does make it sometimes tricky for me.”

Daniel Ricciardo claims he is not done with Renault yet

Even though Ricciardo had a tough season with Renault last year, he drove his way to 2 podiums this season. He clarified that last year he was still transitioning into the team. He was understanding the team and figuring the car out.

He said, “I do feel this year has certainly solidified a lot of what I wanted to get out of this chapter in my career with Renault. I think this year we certainly turned a corner.”

He further added, “I am not done yet, certainly want to close this cook the best way possible. I want to get on top of the battle and leave feeling fulfilled.”

Daniel Ricciardo is currently at P6 on the drivers’ standings with 96 points under his belt. However, there are only 3 points keeping him away from the P3.

He will look forward to extracting the most out of his last 3 races with Renault and help both the team to the top of the mid-table.
