One of the most admired Formula One drivers worldwide is Daniel Ricciardo. People have been captivated by him due to his charisma and big smile. And this admiration has grown to new heights thanks to Netflix’s hit show Drive to Survive. As an illustration, we may recall how the entire F1 community and the fans jumped for delight when the Honey Badger revealed his collaboration with Red Bull as a reserve driver. Later, the fans’ joy knew no bounds when he was announced as Nyck de Vries’ replacement under the Red Bull banner.

Despite not scoring in either of his appearances in the Belgian or the Hungarian Grand Prix, the jovial Australian managed to rekindle interest in Formula One amidst the boredom caused by Max Verstappen‘s dominance. Verstappen has won 10 of the first 12 races and is likely to be cruising to his third championship. Fans are aware of this, yet Ricciardo’s return may have an impact on viewers. And this is the same topic that has been discussed on The VF1 show.

The hosts of the show talked about how the fans’ constant focus on Ricciardo’s performance is precisely becoming the reason behind the hike of the audience to the drab F1 season. While discussing one of them VF said, “I think that we’re possibly going to see maybe a little bit of a drop off because people are yeah, it’s his third championship, but at the same time there is also still so much intrigue with Daniel Ricardo.”

She continued while adding further, “And Ricardo by being the reserve driver for Red Bull, I think there’s gonna be a lot of interest there. People are still gonna wanna watch it because in this day, what was Daniel Riccardo’s life like? Before entering alpha, Tauri, what, what? What was the actual decision that went into that? And I think lots of people are going to be interested in the most.”

Although Ricciardo has returned, his appearance has been met with some mixed responses, and in the midst of it, the individual responsible for making the return of the Honey Badger possible has come up to express his opinion.

Red Bull team Boss Christian Horner shares his feedback for Daniel Ricciardo’s comeback

While Daniel Ricciardo has made it abundantly apparent he wants to return to the F1 grid, Christian Horner was the one who made Ricciardo’s wish come true. When the Red Bull crew had the opportunity to clear the track for the honey badger’s return following a disappointing performance by Nyck de Vries, they lost no time in bringing their favorite back.

However, Ricciardo did seem a little uneasy with the AT04, although on his Hungarian GP excursion, he not only out-qualified Yuki Tsunoda but also finished the race ahead of the Japanese performance. Tsunoda, though, exacted revenge at the Belgian Grand Prix. And following the two comeback rounds Christian Horner has praised Ricciardo’s performance. The British man seemed satisfied and initially said as per Mirror, “I think he met it. Seeing what he did at Silverstone in the tyre test, I think after that expectations changed and he met all expectations.”
