Defending Like a Lion, Esteban Ocon Doesn’t Wish to Divulge Crucial Information About Alpine
The Bahrain pre-season testing report cards are out. While there is still one day to go for testing to conclude, the teams now have a fair idea of how their year’s extensive work in the factory has manifested itself. The fight of the best of the rest last season was more enthralling than that of Red Bull cruising to the world championship title. Alpine emerged victorious over McLaren. Keeping the momentum going, the Renault-owned outfit came into the testing session to try their machine and it hasn’t disappointed Esteban Ocon. He gave thumbs up to the progress but got tight-lipped when it came to disclosing their shortcoming if any.
Every team has its own benchmark to test itself during the testing session. It was combating porpoising for Mercedes. Similarly, for Alpine, it is to come closer to the top three teams. Alpine, who was recently ridiculed by Fernando Alonso for being happy to finish fourth, has fared well so far. Their drivers seem happy with what they have been handed and Ocon has declared that there are “almost no problems”.
As quoted by Motorsports Turkey, Ocon said, “We’ve almost completed our plans, we’ve set ourselves a direction of work. So there’s not much left. There’s nothing wrong with the car. We just had to make a few tweaks. It took a little longer than planned, but from now on everything is under our control.”
