Getting into Formula 1 isn’t easy. This statement stands not only true for drivers, but also for teams. We already know the efforts various entities put into trying to become a part of the premier class. This is exactly why Lawrence Stroll got ‘goosebumps’ when he first set his eyes on the Aston Martin F1 challenger.
Despite his success, the Canadian became quite emotional during Aston Martin’s first press conference as a new F1 team. To put things in perspective, Stroll is a man worth 2.8 billion dollars. In Lawrence Stroll’s case, he made most of his fortune by selling his Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors shares. The Canadian masterminded the latter brand’s hugely successful IPO in 2011. Despite his massive wealth and success on financial frontiers, Stroll got quite emotional after realizing his F1 dream.
Speaking at one of the first Aston Martin press conferences, he said, “My feelings were quite emotional actually, got goosebumps! It (the Aston Martin F1 challenger) was nothing short of breathtaking. It was a dream I’ve been working on for several years. I saw that dream come true in front of my eyes a few hours ago. Very emotional.”
