The dominance is quite evident as both the Red Bull drivers are at the top 2 of the driver’s championship table, where the Dutchman has already won the 2022 title. It’s no surprise to him that the opponent teams are demanding for harsh penalties over the breaching of the cost cap.

Red Bull have overspent last year’s cost cap of $145 million by a minor 5 percent. This might have given an advantage to the Milton Keynes-based team. Other teams which stayed well within the cost cap limits are now raising questions. They claim that this advantage was unfair to them and demand justice.

Amid all this, Sergio Perez has finally broken his silence to give his take on the cost cap saga. The Mexican believes the team isn’t involved in any wrongdoings and has worked according to the set protocols.

Talking with Motorsportweek, the Mexican driver said, “We believe we have kept within the lines and believe that everything will fall into the right place. In the end, there are always teams that want to reduce your performance, especially when you are winning.”
