When it comes to Max Verstappen and his support in the Formula 1 world, there are two things you can be certain of—he has the Orange Army (basically the entirety of The Netherlands) who will have him back no matter what, and he has his non-likers club, members of which don’t like him one bit. And recently, one of the five Original Vampires grabbed the limelight (obviously while wearing their daylight ring) by calling Verstappen a “grouchy baby.” Who was it? Rebekah Mikaelson, aka Claire Holt.

No sooner than she made this comment did Verstappen fans and the Orange Army start piling on and harassing her for saying what she did. They called her out for being a baby herself and compared her to Max, saying that he can do what she does, but she won’t ever be able to do what Max does. Despite all the snarky comments, she took them in stride. And, like Verstappen, she has her own support.

Max Verstappen disliker Claire Holt has her own support system

About a week ago, a fan asked Holt on Instagram whether she still follows F1. She replied, “I love it, but I’m tired of Max [Verstappen] winning all the time. Also, I think he’s a grouchy baby…” While she was just sharing her opinion, Verstappen fans didn’t need another invitation to call her out for what she said.

While Max fans took out their frustration on Twitter and Instagram, she reacted to the drama, saying, “I can’t stop laughing about this. People are taking it so seriously that I called him a grouchy baby.” With the Max Army being relentless as ever, Holt’s support system issued a classy response to them. On a recent Instagram Live, Holt and her husband were walking when the Australian actress asked him what he thought about the Verstappen drama.

He said, “Yeah, those guys seem really cool who’re commenting. I’m sure they have great things going on in their lives.” Social media is supposed to be a safe space where people can express themselves however they want. And what Holt got for sharing an opinion was the backlash from Max fans, whom the comment didn’t directly affect.

When she first called Max a “grouchy baby,” she also expressed how she would like “Checo [Perez] to kick his a*s.” The Red Bull teammates have won every race this season, Max with six wins and Checo with two. At the start of the season, Sergio Perez looked like he was in contention for the title, but not anymore. Either way, Holt believes Perez can give Verstappen a run for his money. And because of her support for Perez, another Checo supporter has her back.

Sergio Perez’s wife is in Claire Holt’s corner

What was intended as a light-hearted comment on her interest in F1 has become a major drama in the Mex Verstappen support camp. But amidst the drama, where the entire Orange Army is against Holt, she has more than just her husband supporting her.

Holt posted a reel on Instagram a couple of days ago describing the situation with the Verstappen drama. In a step to show her support for the actress, Perez’s wife, Carola Martinez, liked the post. Although happening in their personal lives shouldn’t affect drivers on track, can this lead to tensions aggravating in the Red Bull garage? Even if this won’t affect their on-track performances, the tension has sure seeped into their personal lives, with Checo’s wife now part of the narrative.
