The Spanish GP had an attendance of 280,000+, with mostly everyone cheering on the home heroes Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso. All that was visible in the grandstands was a sea of green and red. However, as the race turned from bad to worse for Carlos Sainz, an F1 Veteran’s 3-word jab at the Ferrari has left the Tifosi going berserk. What did the Veteran say?

The struggles for Ferrari just do not seem to end. After a mixed Saturday in Spain where Carlos Sainz qualified P2 and Charles Leclerc got out in Q1, the Sunday does not seem to bode well for the team either. Starting P2, Carlos Sainz was expected to finish at least on the podium during the race. However, the Mercedes suddenly seems to have found a lot more pace with the new upgrades as they look set to get at least one driver on the podium.

Carlos Sainz was asked to pit early to try to undercut Lewis Hamilton, who was right on his back. Mercedes, however, did not pit the car until very late in the race, which meant both Russell and Hamilton had fresher rubber and faster car and easily overtook the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz. Things only got worse for the Spanish driver from there.

Sainz radioed his team, asking them to figure out the best way to beat Sergio Perez, who was then in P5 behind him. However, there was not much that Ferrari could do, as Checo had a better pace and eventually overtook him. However, Martin Brundle further rubbed salt into Ferrari’s wounds. When Carlos Sainz’s radio message was broadcasted asking for the way to beat Checo, Martin Brundle on live television, commented “Hire Adrian Newey”
