Helmut Marko has been a key man for Red Bull since the team’s inception. Apart from being their chief advisor, he is also the head of Red Bull’s driver development program, which has been responsible for discovering and developing many of the top drivers in the sport, including Sebastian Vettel. Marko played a key role in bringing Vettel to Red Bull and helping him achieve success during his time with the team.

And since then, even though Sebastian left the team at the end of the 2014 season, he and the advisor have shared a comfortable and rather good relationship. Even his departure didn’t create any issues with the team, and things continue to be good as there are recent rumors of the German’s probable return to Milton Keynes after his retirement.

Another testimony of the closeness of their relationship comes from Marko himself, as he revealed the German’s whereabouts since his retirement and exit from Formula 1. In an interview with Sport1.de, Marko said, “Yes. At the moment he has disappeared with the whole family in the Arctic. Take a vacation there. I think it will only be really approachable in March,” when asked if he’s still in touch with Vettel.
