The upcoming Formula 1 project kickstarted by Hollywood royalty, Brad Pitt has quickly become one of the most anticipated projects this sport has witnessed in a long, long time. That being said, from a purist’s perspective there is much in this ‘film’ that can go wrong. However, with legends such as Lewis Hamilton exerting a hands-on influence on the actual making of the movie and the narrative to be pushed, great things can be expected.

Yet, there are some fans and drivers, like Max Verstappen for instance who have actually taken a dig at the venture. But Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff has come out swinging with some facts to show the entire world what actually is in store for them to see once the movie sees the light of the day.

Toto Wolff silences Max Verstappen

Verstappen recently criticized the project by saying, “I completely can’t be bothered with this. In the end, a film is always made to create a little bit of a show in it. Because yes, of course, it won’t all be real. But I think it’s all fine. I’m actually not that much into it.” But is the 2x champion jumping the gun in questioning the vision and commitment of Pitt in making the most realistic F1 movie to date?

Wolff thinks so. Countering the Dutch lion, Wolff revealed, “I think we went ahead, the first discussions, we sent Brad to a driving school in France, going through the Formula cars from Formula 4, all the way up.”

“And we tried to be helpful with the narrative; Lewis [Hamilton] is an executive producer, so he wanted to make sure that whatever the movie, when the movie comes out, it’s as realistic as possible. And we had a few laughs. But I think it’s a very, very good narrative,” as quoted by Speedcafe.com

As it turns out, the entire Mercedes garage is a fan of Pitt’s F1-inspired venture.

Lewis Hamilton & Co. gee Brad Pitt up

As we already know, Hamilton is an executive producer for the film. But even his teammate, George Russell seems to be highly involved and enthused with the whole idea of having the sport we love immortalized on the big screens of Hollywood.

Russell was quoted by Express UK as saying, “It’s only when you get to be with those individuals whether it was Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt or Roger Federer, whoever we’ve been fortunate enough to meet, you recognize they’re just normal human beings. He was joking around and having a good time and just kind of one of the boys really. So excited to see what the movie does.”

Will this be the best F1/racing movie released ever?
