Max Verstappen competed in the 6 hours of Spa as under the rules of the sport, one pro driver must be participating in the 24-hour event. Verstappen raced for team Redline and began the race with three hours remaining. Starting from fifth the beginning was quite dramatic as he almost avoided a tragedy on the track when third-placed Luke Bennett collided with the GTE’s Ferris Stanley.
The event went more thrilling when the second-placed squad received a penalty and was pushed down to tenth. The Dutchman was at the podium but can’t hold on to the position for long. He made a contact with Eau Rogue, which forced him off the track although he was able to continue, but Graham Carroll of AMG Petronas took advantage and snatched the podium place from Verstappen.

In the final laps, the gap was just left of 7.8s from the pole sitters, the earlier contact with GTE potentially cost victory for the team Redline. The team came home second and sits at the second spot in the overall championship standings, whereas Carroll’s AMG Petronas Esports were the winner of the 6 Hours of Spa.
