The 2021 Abu Dhabi GP was one of the most controversial F1 races in recent times. After an intense season, the two front runners reached the last race with equal points after battling throughout the year. An exceptional season with a lot of grit and pace came to a polarizing end, and the dust doesn’t seem like settling anytime soon. Lewis Hamilton has said nothing since, but his silence can be interpreted easily, as per many insiders.
Many feel the events at Abu Dhabi might force Hamilton out of his seat, and if that happens, the sport will lose its greatest ever driver in a disappointing fashion. The harshest implication of Hamilton’s retirement will fall on the FIA’s credibility. Dutch racing driver Jeroen Bleekemolen believes Hamilton is rooting for one major step, and that is firing Michael Masi.

Lewis Hamilton wants to get rid of Michael Masi: Bleekemolen
Bleekemolen believes Hamilton has made his point very clear through his long-standing silence; he believes the Briton wants Masi out of the scene, among others.
In a recent interview, he put forward his views on the same.
“His opinion is noticed and everyone is talking about it. That puts pressure on the FIA. They have to intervene and make changes. The FIA has to come up with a good story, otherwise, Hamilton’s first words will not be what the F1 leadership would like to hear,” said the Dutchman.
As far as his return is concerned, Bleekemolen believes the Briton will make a return to F1 in 2022. “I expect and hope he continues. It’s more fun when he’s there,” he said. “Lewis is driven and good enough to last a few more years. He also sees that eighth World title.”

“Hamilton is trying to increase the pressure on the FIA motorsport federation and is powerful. I think he wants to get some people out of there, like race director Michael Masi,” concluded Bleekemolen.
