Under the clearest of skies at Nurburgring, Lewis Hamilton sealed his 91st career race win. Notching yet another win to his tally, the Briton was ecstatic as he crossed the checkered flag.

Previously at Sochi, he did not enjoy the best of times as he was handed a time penalty. However, he came out all guns blazing this time around and his victory was all but confirmed just as soon as Valtteri Bottas was taken off the grid.

Lewis Hamilton proved ‘records are meant to be broken’

It was almost unimaginable for anyone to even attempt to break Schumacher’s long-standing record. Any driver who did so had to have a long and stellar career to even get close to it. Both Michael Schumacher and son Mick Schumacher congratulated the Mercedes driver.

Michael’s post on Twitter read, “The Schumacher Family on @LewisHamilton winning his 91st GP, equalling Michael’s record. Big congrats, an impressive achievement of a great driver.

“We cannot deny we would have loved for Michael to hold those records. But as he always used to say: records are there to be broken.”

Mick Schumacher also bestowed praise on Hamilton

Although Mick Schumacher was dealt a poor hand as the weather forced a cruel change of fate, he stuck around for the race weekend. In a heartfelt gesture, he presented one of his father’s helmets to Hamilton.

He also took to Twitter and captioned his post, “Records are there to be broken. Well done, Lewis! @LewisHamilton #F1 #EifelGP”

With 11 laps to go, the safety car made its way out on the tracks as a response to Lando Norris’ incident. Max Verstappen capitalized on that and successfully brought the gap to Hamilton down to nearly 1.5 seconds.

Despite that, Lewis pushed the car hard towards the finish line, and in doing so, he brought yet another winner’s trophy home– something he has become accustomed to over the years.
