As perplexing as it may sound, McLaren drivers Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris had to stop their streaming activity on Twitch as F1 were not particularly happy about it.
Norris, in particular, has garnered a legion of fans, having taken up a sort of a content creator role in his leisure time. He loves speaking to fans and playing games with professionals and even broadcasts clips of the same.
During the lockdown, Norris and a few young F1 drivers entertained audiences, playing a variety of games, once even venturing into the official Formula 1 game as well.

McLaren drivers had to shut down the stream after a few minutes
While Sainz and Norris were playfully chatting and streaming a video on the platform Twitch, a McLaren staff member walked in the background; although it was not clear what he was trying to say, the general narrative was that “F1 are getting unhappy”.
The reactions of both racers were contrasting, to say the least. Carlos Sainz was focused on amicably ending the stream, by saying ‘we have to say goodbye’ and ‘adios’.

Norris, on the other hand, was confused as to why he was being asked to stop streaming, and rightly so. He was heard saying, “Go and blame the F1 chat!” towards the end of the video.
It possibly came as a surprise to the young Brit, considering practice sessions had been canceled for the day. However, the reason behind F1’s grief is still clouded in mystery.

Sainz and Norris keen on outfoxing midfield opponents
What both drivers will want to forget is this incident and the entire race at Sochi. Following Sainz’s crash last weekend, Norris could not make it back up the ladder and ultimately lost out on points.
But the race at Nurburgring gives them a new chance. However, they need to proceed steadily considering both practice sessions were canceled on Friday.

From that perspective, Norris’ previous experiences of driving at the track might come in handy. Regardless, McLaren have a great opportunity to take up the third position in the team standings.
